Teenager, Jamal Harris, learns that he is a descendant of the warrior people, the Defenders. The Defenders are the sworn protectors of the galaxy, who have been locked in battle for centuries with the world conqueror, Gorla. Jamal learns of his powers and how to unlock them from the alien sage, Mor-tan.
